    LAILA ANDERSON TO RECEIVE THE MUSIAL AWARD FOR EXTRAORDINARY CHARACTER

    ST. LOUIS – Oct. 23, 2019 – She’s fighting a rare, life-threatening autoimmune disease. And she inspired a team to the Stanley Cup while uplifting a city and people around the nation. That’s extraordinary character if we’ve ever seen it. And so, it’s only fitting that 11-year-old Laila Anderson is the recipient of this year’s Musial Award for Extraordinary Character.   • BART CONNER AND NADIA COMANECI TO RECEIVE MUSIAL LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR SPORTSMANSHIP

    FIRST COUPLE OF GYMNASTICS WILL BE HONORED AT THE NATIONALLY-TELEVISED MUSIAL AWARDS IN ST. LOUIS ON NOV. 23

    ST. LOUIS – Oct. 4, 2019 – They are icons of their sport, winners of a combined seven Olympic Gymnastics gold medals. Together, as husband and wife, they have led their lives inspiring others and contributing to the greater good. In recognition of their positive impact on sports and society, Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci will receive the highest award for sportsmanship: the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award.

    Conner and Comaneci will be honored at the 2019 Musial Awards in St. Louis on Saturday, Nov. 23. In addition to the live event, the show will air nationally as a one-hour special on CBS on Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. Eastern.

  • ST. LOUIS ADDS 2020 USA GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS TO ITS SUMMER LINEUP

    CHAMPIONSHIPS SERVE AS OLYMPIC SELECTION EVENT FOR RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

    ST. LOUIS – Oct. 3, 2019 – The Gateway City will be the hub for all things gymnastics in June 2020. One week before the previously announced 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Gymnastics, St. Louis will host the 2020 USA Gymnastics Championships at the America’s Center Convention Complex and the Dome on June 17-21. The event features more than 1,600 of the nation’s best gymnasts in acrobatic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline and tumbling. The five-day national championships includes both Junior Olympic and elite levels for all three disciplines. The championships will also serve as the 2020 Olympic selection event for rhythmic gymnastics, and the rhythmic Olympians will be named at the conclusion of the competition.
