    SELECTED CITIES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN NOVEMBER

    ST. LOUIS – Jan. 27, 2014 – The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee announced that St. Louis is among the finalist cities to host a future Men’s Final Four.  St. Louis made the initial cut to be one of eight communities in the running for the event during its next open cycle – 2017 to 2020.

LOUIS – Jan. 16, 2014 – On Saturday, Feb. 8, a series of special events will mark the opening of the new I-70 Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge spanning the Mississippi River.  Participants will have an opportunity to run, walk or bike across the new bridge, which will open to traffic on Sunday, Feb. 9, in time to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the City of St. Louis. LOUIS – Jan. 14, 2014 – The St. Louis Sports Commission is accepting nominations for its annual Carl Fricks Sportsmanship Scholarship.  Unique to the region, the $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school student from the St. Louis metro area who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and character in athletic competition.
