NCAA DIVISION I WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS RETURN TO ST. LOUIS THIS WEEK FOR THE 8TH TIME SINCE 2000

ST. LOUIS – March 13, 2017 – 2,438 student-athletes have competed all season long for the opportunity to wrestle in St. Louis for an NCAA title.  The dream remains alive for 330 of them.  Come Saturday night, 10 will have advanced through the brackets and be crowned national champions.

The drama and excitement of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships reignites in St. Louis starting at 11 a.m. Thursday (March 16) and continues through Saturday (March 18) at Scottrade Center.

All-Session tickets are sold out, but a limited amount of tickets are available for Session 5 Saturday morning and the event finals Saturday night.  Tickets may be purchased online through NCAA.com/Wrestling, by phone at 800-745-3000, or at the Scottrade Center box office.

CELEBRATING WRESTLING:  The NCAA Wrestling Championships are a celebration of the world’s oldest and greatest sport.  Taking place inside Union Station, the Fan Festival will feature wrestling exhibit booths, memorabilia, autograph sessions and interactive games.  Admission is free.  The competition schedule and a complete list of fan activities can be found below.

YOUTH WRESTLING CLINIC:  Prior to the collegiate wrestlers hitting the mats, more than 150 aspiring grapplers will take to the floor at Scottrade Center for a FREE youth wrestling clinic from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (March 14).  Boys and girls in grades second through eighth will receive instruction from student-athletes and coaches from participating universities.  Participants will learn wrestling skills, conditioning tips, and the importance of practicing good sportsmanship.  Parents are also invited to attend a free “Musial Moments” program that instills the qualities of sportsmanship on and off the mat.  Interested individuals can register by visiting stlsports.org/wrestling.
