“BATTLE OF THE TIGERS” KICKS OFF SEPTEMBER 23, 2023 AT THE DOME AT AMERICA’S CENTER

ST. LOUIS – December 15, 2022 – The long-awaited return of Mizzou football to St. Louis comes in the fall of 2023 as Mizzou faces the Memphis Tigers at the Dome at America’s Center on Saturday, September 23.  Tickets for the showdown are on sale today – Thursday, December 15 – at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.

The St. Louis Sports Commission is ecstatic to bring Mizzou football back to St. Louis with an outstanding game week experience planned for the game against Memphis,” said Sports Commission Vice President Chris Roseman.  “We can’t wait to see the Dome filled with black and gold, and this is Tiger fans’ first chance to get the best seats for what we expect to be an electric atmosphere.”

The “Battle of the Tigers” in St. Louis will feature two teams coming off bowl game appearances.  Mizzou is wrapping up the 2022 season with a challenge against Wake Forest in the Gasparilla Bowl, and in 2023 will look to build on a lot of momentum, including giving #1 ranked and undefeated Georgia its most competitive game of this season.  Likewise, Memphis is on the upswing, going 6-6 this season and matched up against Utah State in the First Responder Bowl.

We also have some really good players on our team from St. Louis and they deserve the opportunity to play in front of a well-represented hometown crowd. Mizzou’s game against Memphis is the first Mizzou football game in St. Louis since 2010 – a 23-13 win over Illinois – the final game of the Arch Rivalry series, which ran from 2002-03 and 2007-10.  The 2023 game against Memphis kicks off the Mizzou to the Lou series – a new partnership between Mizzou and the St. Louis Sports Commission which will bring multiple Mizzou athletic events to the St. Louis area during the 2023-24 season.
