FAMED COMEDIAN WILL ENTERTAIN CROWD AND CONDUCT CONVERSATION WITH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD RECIPIENT BOB COSTAS
ST. LOUIS – Nov. 11, 2024 – Always a show filled with emotion, the Musial Awards presented by Maryville University will assuredly include its fair share of laughs this year as comedian, actor, and filmmaker Billy Crystal will make a special appearance. The Tony Award and six-time Emmy Award-winning actor, filmmaker, and entertainer will bring his inimitable brand of humor to the Musial Awards audience and will conduct the on-stage conversation with Bob Costas, this year’s recipient of the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award for Sportsmanship. The 2024 Musial Awards takes place Saturday, November 23 at Stifel Theatre in Downtown St. Louis. Showtime is 7 p.m.
Crystal has done it all throughout his career with successes in stand-up and sketch comedy, TV sitcoms, film, and Broadway, receiving numerous honors including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, a Critics’ Choice Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Kennedy Center Honor. Crystal is also well-known for hosting the Academy Awards, having done so nine times, to critical acclaim. He will add to his national awards show resume with his appearance at the Musial Awards, and in doing so will reconnect with longtime friend Bob Costas.
Crystal joins a star-studded cast attending the Musial Awards, including Costas, baseball legends Joe Torre and Ozzie Smith, six-time Olympic medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and 2024 honorees Salvador Perez and Larry Fitzgerald, Jr.
“It is tremendously thrilling to have ‘Mr. Saturday Night’ on Saturday night, November 23 at the Musial Awards!” said Marc Schreiber, president of the St. Louis Sports Commission, which produces the Musial Awards. “We’re always striving to elevate the stature and entertainment value of the event, so it’s gratifying to have someone of the stature of Billy Crystal in attendance – and I know Billy’s presence and participation will be very meaningful to Bob Costas. This is going to be a Musials moment you won’t want to miss.”
