Tim Ryan

Tim Ryan is the director of communications for the St. Louis Sports Commission.  Tim oversees public and media relations, strategic communications, and assists with the organization’s social media platforms.  He is focused on educating those outside the organization to the Sports Commission’s value as a community unifier, economic development driver, and an advocate for using the power of sports for good.  Prior to accepting the director of communications role, Tim spent 12 years as a manager and then director of operations for the organization.  He was instrumental in the success of the Sports Commission’s events, managing operational details, working with venue partners throughout the area, and managing the organization’s day-to-day operations.  Tim has been with the Sports Commission since 2010.

Prior to joining the Sports Commission, Tim spent four years as the sports director of KTJJ-FM and KREI-AM Radio in Farmington, Mo., where he broadcasted sports, news and weather.  The highlights of his radio career include play-by-play of three state high school championships and covering the 2005 Final Four in St. Louis.

Tim received a Bachelor’s of Journalism from University of Missouri in 2004, and a Master’s of Science in Sport Management from Missouri Baptist University in 2010. Tim is an enthusiastic sports fan and booster of his hometown.  Tim is a St. Louis native and the proud and lucky dad of daughter Samantha.
