Brad Wachler

Brad Wachler is the Vice President of Events at the St. Louis Sports Commission with the primary responsibility to acquire and manage sporting events for the St. Louis region. Brad oversees the organization’s event bids along with the overall planning, organization and execution of the Sports Commission’s events. He serves as the primary liaison for rightsholders, venues, and other key partners.

Most recently, Brad launched and led the Sports Advisory and Consulting Practice Group at the St. Louis based law firm of Lewis Rice. There, he was engaged by the NCAA and numerous intercollegiate athletic departments across all three divisions to consult on various projects, including comprehensive program reviews, strategic planning, Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) initiatives, and Title IX/gender equity studies.

With more than two decades of experience in all areas of athletics administration, Brad previously served as Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. In addition to supporting 50 sport programs, more than 1,400 student-athletes, and 150 staff members, he oversaw and finalized the school’s successful transition from NCAA Division II to Division I. Prior to relocating to St. Louis, Brad held various senior-level administrative positions, including Senior Associate Athletics Director at Central Michigan University.

Brad earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in athletic administration from Indiana University, and a law degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Special Olympics Missouri, the American Cancer Society, and United Soccer Coaches.

Brad, his wife, Melissa, and their four kids are originally from the Detroit area, but they have become big fans of the St. Louis region and have found much happiness residing in the Gateway City.
