224 TEAMS FROM 14 STATE ASSOCIATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SIX-DAY EVENT
ST. LOUIS – June 25, 2021 – The 224 best youth soccer teams in the Midwest will compete for a regional championship in St. Louis starting today. The US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships will take place through Wednesday, June 30 at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex and Lou Fusz Athletic Soccer Complex in Maryland Heights. The Missouri Youth Soccer Association and the St. Louis Sports Commission serve as the host organizations for the event.
This marks the first time the Midwest Regional Championships are taking place in St. Louis and the first time it returns to Missouri since 2001 when the event was held in Springfield.
“The Missouri Youth Soccer Association is extremely pleased to host the USYS Midwest Regional Championships in the St. Louis area,” said MYSA President Jim McCarthy. “St. Louis, the city many call the soccer capital of the United States, will showcase 224 teams playing for the opportunity to compete later this year for a national championship. Missouri Youth Soccer and our partner, the St. Louis Sports Commission, invite all St. Louisans to come out to watch the best of the best play in youth soccer.”
Chris Roseman, vice president of the St. Louis Sports Commission said, “We are thrilled to be hosting this great event in Maryland Heights. We are excited to welcome all of the athletes, families and coaches from 14 state associations while making sure everyone has a tremendous experience during the tournament.”
The 224 boys and girls teams in the 13U through 19U age groups are from 14 state associations that make up US Youth Soccer’s Midwest Region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio North, Ohio South, South Dakota and Wisconsin). Regional winners will earn a berth to the 2021 US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex and Lou Fusz Athletic Soccer Complex have 21 synthetic turf soccer fields combined, and are located less than a mile apart – all within Creve Coeur Park.
