Coeli O’Connell

Coeli (pronounced chae-lee or chālē) O’Connell is the director of marketing for the Sports Commission. She manages the planning and execution of the marketing campaigns and ticket sales strategies for the Sports Commission’s owned and acquired events. Coeli also designs, produces and coordinates all of the graphic design elements associated with the organization’s events, marketing and communication areas including branding, promotional elements, signage, event bids and more. She oversees the organization’s four affiliated websites and social media platforms as well. Highlights have included working with USA Gymnastics to produce the 2021 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials, which set a ticket sales record, partnering with the Blues for the 2019 Stanley Cup watch parties and 2020 NHL All-Star Game, and creating the Biz Dash 5K brand.

Prior to joining the Sports Commission in 2014, Coeli completed a graphic design internship with the marketing department at Schlafly Beer and worked as a freelance designer. During her four years of college, she also worked in the communications area of the Saint Louis University Office of Admission.

A St. Louis native, Coeli graduated from Saint Louis University in 2014. She received a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in graphic design. She also received her master’s in business administration from SLU in 2021. A lifelong sports fan, Coeli enjoys following her hometown teams (especially the Blues and Billikens), traveling, skiing, and working on creative projects for clients, friends and family.
