Director of Communications
Tim Ryan is the director of communications for the Sports Commission. He oversees the public and media relations, strategic communications, and assists with the organization’s social media platforms. He also oversees the internship program and assists with the Sports Commission’s young professionals group, the Associates.
Tim has been with the Sports Commission since 2010. Joining the organization as an intern, he became a fulltime staff member serving as the manager and then director of operations from 2010-2022. Tim has had an instrumental role in the success of the Sports Commission’s events overseeing the operations, working with venue partners throughout the area, and managing the organization’s day-to-day activity.
Prior to joining the Sports Commission, Tim spent four years as the sports director of KTJJ-FM and KREI-AM Radio in Farmington, Mo., where he broadcast local sports and news. The highlights of his radio career include play-by-play of three state high school championships and covering the 2005 Final Four in St. Louis.
Tim received a bachelor’s of journalism from the University of Missouri in 2004, and a master’s of science in sport management from Missouri Baptist University in 2010. Tim is an enthusiastic sports fan, following the hometown Blues and Cardinals, as well as college and Olympic sports. Tim is a St. Louis native and lives in Webster Groves, Mo., with his wife Missy and daughter Samantha.
